So this week was the end of the Photo101 challenge and the weekend of my Non-Profit’s biggest annual fundraiser. My feeling of triumph is brought on by organizing and executing the fundraiser and having it be successful – for the 7th year! Today’s a day of rest and recovery and reflecting on a great month of planning & coordinating for the event, and a great month of Photo101.
Day 19 – Twins
One of my favorite beverages in my favorite glasses that were a gift from a friend! What could be better?
Day 18 – Edge & Alignment
While in Pennsylvania today, shot this picture of the National Memorial Arch in Valley Forge Park. It is dedicated to “the officers and private soldiers of the Continental Army in December 19, 1777 to June 19, 1778”. It’s an awesome monument atop a hill and Valley Forge Park really makes you feel the soldiers life and the tough times they fought in.
Did use Picasa to help with cropping, alignment, contrast, and conversion to B&W, all of which were great practice with a great, free set of photo editing tools. Neat trip, neat lesson, fun day!
Day 17 – Glass
Well this one was tough – think I’ll need to keep thinking on this glass idea! Inside our sailing school’s sail shed – looking out on our boats.
Day 16 – Treasure & Closeup
Most of all I treasure my family, that family includes the dog! Here’s Kylie, the cutest dog ever. It’s a good thing she’s cute because it makes up for her mischief and severe separation anxiety!
Day 15 – Landscape
Water – my favorite landscape! Early spring – can’t wait to get back out on the water! Maybe in this row boat?
Day 14 – Scale and Observation
The freezing creeks, river and bay water wreaked havoc this winter of 2015. Here’s an example…
Thank goodness spring is here!
Day 13 – Moment & Motion
Well, needed the weekend to catch up with last week’s assignments. This weekend the osprey returned to our area of the Northern Chesapeake Bay. I have always wished I could photograph an osprey in motion, catching it’s prey to feed itself and it’s family. I was able to catch one in my lens today – not as closely as I’d like – not as dramatic as in real life. Also I post a picture I took 2 years ago of an osprey who had just grabbed a fish out of the Bay
Day 12 – Architecture
Entrance – something that should be architected. This house had a side door only for years. Now it has an architected entrance, something to invite friends and visitors. Funny that friends and family still use the old side door!
Day 11 – Pop of color
This is a color I’ve been waiting for for months – the first sign of Spring – crocus blooming! So happy to walk by and see this amazing little plant blooming after a nasty, cold, snowy winter.
